How Will Global Warming Be Solved?

There are a lot of scientists who read this blog, so I was interested to take your temperature and see what all of you think will be the solution to the global warming crisis.

My work is related to this issue. I've recently become pretty skeptical of it, i.e. I don't think there is any way what I research will have an impact on global warming. Still, it has many other very substantial benefits, so I think it is still worthwhile work.

Bottom line: We have to cut emissions.

I think the dramatic reduction in carbon emissions will come via science (i.e. electric cars, more efficient methods of reusing materials, etc).

But first we also have to build people's awareness of the problem and get non-scientists to participate in and prioritize the solution.
