The other day, I was in the kitchen at work, washing out my Ziploc bag, when I heard a coworker walk in. I sighed and mentally prepared for someone to ask, "What are you doing?" when I realized that it was my Awesomest Coworker.
And Awesomest Coworker isn't Awesomest Coworker for no reason, so her response to seeing me washing my plastic baggie was, "You know, Oprah does that!"
So there you have it folks, washing out and reusing your sandwich bags is your Oprah approved easy green for today.

Holla atcha awesome coworkers. They make life soo much easier. But I'm dying to know what is your day job? If it were me, your projects would keep me busy full time.
Well if Oprah does it, then I'm in.
My attitude toward O has always been "eh". But if Oprah is all for washing out baggies, that I should upgrade my attitude toward O.
OT: I do wish she would not pose on the cover of every issue of her magazine. Seems a bit vain.
Heh. Beany, I share your attitude towards Oprah, and I agree that maybe someone else on the cover once in a while would be nice.
But she does have tremendous influence, so I'm happy when she uses it to make people think about the environment.
Oh and Amelia, I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. ;)

I like Oprah (though I never seldom watch her show). She is SO powerful, yet seems to use it for good. That said, I agree that it's lame for her to be on every cover. The director of my institution has a picture in every issue of the company newsletter. It reminds me of Oprah.
Heck, I'm glad Oprah is doing it. She does have a lot of influence and also represents the beginning of the mainstream. Let's hope more and more folks follow her lead.
How do you dry your baggies?
I read an interesting fact about Oprah the other day. She's claimed that loosing weight was the single best thing she's done in her life . . like besides the fact that she rose out of poverty and is the first female African American women to be a millionaire.
Jennie, I basically just let my baggies air dry inside out on my desk for the rest of the day. It usually only takes an hour before they're dry. But I guess Los Angeles is fairly dry so it would probably take longer in a more humid place.
